AAF pounds Taliban hideout in Kandahar, killing 30

KANDAHAR CITY (Pajhwok): At least 30 insurgents have been killed in airstrikes by the Afghan Air Force (AAF) in Shah Walikot district of southern Kandahar province, an official said on Tuesday.

Provincial police spokesman Zia Durrani told Pajhwok Afghan News the airstrikes were conducted in Chinarato area on the border between Kandahar and Uruzgan provinces late on Monday night.

He said 30 militants were killed and several others were when the air forces pounded a militant hideout.

The airstrike also caused landmines to explode at the rebel hideout, inflicting casualties on the Talibaninfo-icon and destroying their 14 vehicles, weapons and ammunition.
