Appointed 3 years ago, district chief yet to take charge
GARDEZ CITY (Pajhwok): The Lazha Mangal district administrative chief in southeastern Paktia province on Monday complained the provincial authorities were yet to introduce him to his office despite being officially appointed three years back.
Abdul Rahman Solamal told a press conference in Gardez, the provincial capital, that he had been appointed as Lazha Mangal district chief through an open competition by the Administrative Reforms and Civil Services Commission (IARCSC) nearly three years back, but since he was signing the attendance sheet at the governor’s house as acting district chief.
During the three years, Solamal was once sent to Janikhel district as acting head instead of Lazha Mangal.
To substantiate his assertion, the official showed his appointment letter signed by the President and orders from the Attorney General’s Office, and IARCSC to reporters.
Solamal added Zurmat was an important district of Paktia but the town had been without the administrative head for the last six months.
He refused to be appointed as Zurmat district chief due to personal issues.
Paktia’s acting governor Abdul Wali Sahi denied to speak on the issue.
Paktia has been without governor over the past 20 days and its affairs are being run by the deputy governor, Sahi.
