QALA-I-NAW (Pajhwok): One woman was killed and two others were wounded in a rocket attack by Talibaninfo-icon in the Moqar district of northwestern Badghis province, a local official said on Thursday.

Maeenddin, a resident of the area, told Pajhwok Afghan News the militants attacked an under-construction healthinfo-icon clinic in the Dozdak area of the district and damaged its walls at midnight.

He said one woman was killed and two others were wounded. The victims were from the same family. Construction work on the health centre has been underway for two months.

Farid Ahmad Akhezai, deputy chief of the provincial council, confirmed the rocket attack on the health facility, saying it was aimed to stop the construction work.

However, Dr. Abdul Ghani, deputy director of public health, said he was unaware of the attack on the clinic. The Taliban have not yet commented on the incident.
